Iron Flow Shirt
A structured, breathable shirt made from handwoven Kala cotton and naturally dyed with iron using the traditional Ajrakh method. The Iron Flow Shirt begins in the fields with organic cotton, woven on wooden frame looms by Mandam and his family, then carried to the nearby Ajrakh printing village for a slow, detailed dyeing process.
Resist paste is first applied by hand to preserve the lighter pattern elements, followed by a brushing of natural iron dye. As the dye settles into the cloth, it forms deep, earthy tones with a soft, lived-in depth. The fabric is then washed, boiled, and sun-dried before being sewn and finished with handmade coconut shell buttons.
