Madder Root Shirt
A breathable, lightweight shirt printed by hand using the traditional Ajrakh method. The Madder Root Shirt is made from certified organic Fairtrade cotton and dyed naturally with madder root and indigo through a slow, multi-stage process passed down through generations of artisans in Kutch.
The pattern is created using three precisely interlocking wooden blocks, each layer adding to the geometric detail. Madder gives the shirt its rich, earthy red tones while indigo adds subtle contrast. Once printed, the fabric is washed, boiled and sun-dried to fix the colours naturally. Handmade coconut shell buttons finish the look with a quiet, organic touch.
