My Story
I founded Azurak after falling in love with the ancient Ajrakh block print fabric of Sindh, I was amazed how they created such magical colourful patterns using only hand printing techniques and natural dyes.
This sparked my curiosity and since then I have been on a journey of learning about the different methods of dyeing, fabric production and farming methods used to create our everyday textiles.
Shocked by the amount of nasty chemicals used in standard dyes, the way machines have taken over the fabric industry leaving age old crafts and communities to die off and the horrifically poisonous unsustainable methods of standard cotton farming I am now trying to create a brand where every item created has maximum environmental and social benefit with the smallest footprint possible.
After much hunting I now have a source of GOTS certified organic cotton so all future productions
will be 100% organic.
The fabrics I use have history, heritage and energy within its fibres.
